Touring Museums From Home

This just in from Google: the Art Project. It's a project that took many, many months and developed in partnerships with museums around the world. And it's really cool.

From the comfort of your browser, you can tour select rooms from a list of museums. Find a piece that you like? Click the plus button to get more information about it. Use the zoom tool to get up close and personal (even closer than the gallery guards would let you). It's amazing how they captured the strokes, canvas, even cracked paint in these detailed images!

What do you think? Any artists or museums you've been wanting to visit? Are they featured on Art Project?

Inspiring. A double arm amputee plays guitar.

Paper Art

These illustrations were begging to be shared.

Each elaborate scene is made from carefully sculpted paper cuts.

Intrigued?

View his creation process - the level of detail and intricacy is extraordinary.

Happy New Year!

The folks at Smashing Magazine have put together another great collection of desktop backgrounds for January 2011. I like the comical take on "out with the old, in with the new" in the above background.

So take a gander at their selection and pick your favorite (you're sure to find some inspiration along the way...).

Friday Fotos

Keeping on the subject of cute, I came across this collection of napping newborns - they are so sweet! The photography definitely does them justice. Enjoy! Go to the site to see all 25 sleepers.

Inspiration is Every Where if You're Looking!

Check out the photographs on this Web site. Be inspired. Be an inspiration.

Coffee Fun

What a simple medium for serendipity! I loved the way the layers built up upon each other. One small cup of coffee = hours of fun at work! I'd love to do this one again, with better paper that absorbs the coffee better!

It was interesting to see how dark we could get the coffee to be. I also enjoyed the way you could "see" things in the coffee- like looking at clouds!

Hearts of Light

I love this photo!

Inspiration for Design

Here is a source for 100 Great Resources for Design. I haven't looked at them, so enter with caution I'm thinking the content may be a bit edgy on some!

Altogether Too Happy

I [heart] Stacy Julian! She's a scrapbooking expert and is so cool. This month she's doing a Creativity Project and she's trying to do something creative every day. Not by creating something, but thinking about life creatively. This is so cool!

Personally I'm just being inspired by everything around me. I can't belive I didn't see this stuff a few days ago. Scrapbook pages, patterns in my own home. COLORS are now the coolest things- especially really bright ones. I just can't wait to find ways to use them!
