Getting Qreative

Those infamous QR code squares can be rather unsightly, but creative agency SET is turning that around with their creation of designer QR codes. One of my favorites is the code they camouflaged in an ad for Coca-Cola, shown in Simply Zesty's post on Innovative Uses of QR Codes. The three corner squares alert the user to the existence of a QR code, while mimicking the inner blips outside of the standard square can create a more intriguing shape.

How would you hide a QR code?

Whose Ad is This?

Saw this ad on the sidebar of my email client, and got a little confused.

Whose ad is this? It's Progressive, but State Farm wins the quote war. Guess that's the chance you take with variable marketing? Or do they hope you ignore the highlighted company and remember the overall appearance of the ad and assume the best was Progressive?

Glasses Make the Man

Here is a great ad campaign from Oogmerk opticians. What a change can be made in perspective with the right pair of glasses!

The small print reads: Get the Respect You Deserve.

Before and After

Take some time to look at the two ads and see if you can tell which is the before and which is the after ad. Then read this article by Thomas L. Collins to find out the why behind what he did.
